Why does my display go dark and the OS lock up for seemingly no reason?

Our Aon line of laptops has a magnetic switch that detects when the lid is closed in order to change the power state of the laptop. If you are wearing anything magnetic on your hands or wrists, it can cause this switch to falsely trigger. If you encounter this issue, please remove all magnetic pieces while using the laptop.
